Dr. Nicki Hill, O.D.
Dr. Nicki Hill grew up in the small town of Montevallo, Alabama. After graduating Montevallo High School, she continued her education at The University of Montevallo where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. She then received four years of training from the UAB School of Optometry in Birmingham gaining valuable knowledge and experience. During clinical rotations Dr. Hill worked for the U.S. Veterans Affairs Hospital system in Montgomery, Tuskegee, and Tuscaloosa where she obtained experience in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of many ocular diseases.
Through her optometry program, Dr. Hill was able to gain experience in clinics specializing in pediatrics, vision therapy, contact lenses, ocular disease, and low vision rehabilitation. She also had the privilege of participating in many community service projects providing free eye exams and eyewear to underprivileged community members including the tornado victims in Tuscaloosa and Pratt City. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family. They enjoy a variety of activities including fishing, reading, hiking and participating in church activities.
Dr. Hill is a primary care optometrist serving patients of all ages. She provides a wide variety of vision services including prescribing glasses and contact lenses, pediatric exams, dry eye management, computer vision problem-solving, reading strain problems, eye surgery co-management, and more.
Dr. Amy Howell, O.D.
Dr. Amy Howell and her husband Brock Howell, M.D. decided to plant their family roots in Montgomery, Alabama in 2015.
Dr. Howell received her B.S. from the University of Georgia in 2004 and then went to receive her doctorate of Optometry from UABSO in 2009.
Dr. Howell is a mother to 3 rowdy boys; Huck, Hamp, and John Henry. She has a unique position in eye care being both a doctor and a mother to a child with profound vision needs. Huck was diagnosed as severely near-sighted with astigmatism, strabismus, ambylopia and is red/green colorblind. Dr. Howell has first-hand experience with infant glasses, eye patching, surgery recovery, and developmental therapy. Dr. Howell enjoys learning, cooking, attending Montgomery First Baptist Church and spending time outside with family and friends.
